Gaius Julius Solinus was a Latin grammarian of probably in the middle of the 4th Century.
His major work is De mirabilibus mundi ("The Wonder of the World"). The content is mostly a collection of oddities and curiosities, which the author had excerpted primarily from the Natural History of Pliny, and the geography of Pomponius Mela.

Gaius Julius Solinus war ein lateinischer Grammatiker der vermutlich in der Mitte des 4. Jahrhunderts wirkte.
Sein Hauptwerk ist De mirabilibus mundi („Die Wunder der Welt“). Der Inhalt ist zum größten Teil eine Zusammenstellung von Merkwürdigkeiten und Kuriositäten, die der Autor hauptsächlich aus der Naturgeschichte des Plinius und der Erdbeschreibung des Pomponius Mela exzerpiert hatte.
